Most traders can tell you what a trade did to their P&L. Far fewer can tell you what they were actually looking at the moment they clicked buy or sell — which watchlist tab was open, what the order book looked like, whether they hesitated. That context disappears the second the trade closes, and it's usually the most useful part of a post-trade review.

Step by step: recording your first trade

Open the Trade Cam widget

From your dashboard, open the Trade Cam widget. This is where recording starts and stops — there's nothing to configure beforehand.

Click Start Recording

Your browser will ask for permission to share your screen (and, if you've enabled it, your webcam). Approve the prompt and recording begins immediately — this is a native browser permission, not a QuantAI account setting, so nothing is recorded without your explicit say-so each time.

Trade normally

Keep working exactly as you would otherwise. Trade Cam runs quietly in the background, capturing your screen (and optional face cam) while you watch charts, place orders, and manage positions. Pop the controls out into a small floating window if you want play/stop within reach without switching back to the dashboard tab.

One thing to know: Record around trades — the automatic start/stop when you open and close a position — currently only works with a connected Charles Schwab account, since it relies on your live position data. Trading through another broker? Trade Cam still records and renders the video the same way — just use Record Now or Start Stream yourself instead of relying on auto-detection.

Click Stop when you're done

End the recording whenever you're ready — after a single trade, or after a whole session. There's no fixed time limit tied to the recording itself.

Your video renders automatically

As soon as you stop, QuantAI automatically combines your screen (and face cam, if used) into a single finished video. There's no manual export, no picking a format, and no separate rendering tool to open.

Watch it back instantly

Your recording shows up right away in the Videos tab, and on the corresponding day in your trade calendar — so reviewing what actually happened during a trade is just a click away, whenever you want to look back at it.
